baby*girl snake!!!

The other day i started crocheting a baby snake for our friends new baby room....i used acrylic yarns and i tried to choose the cutest and softest colours....i suppose they're gonna use pastel colours for the room and i wanted it to fit....i also used small plastic buttons for the eyes (and white felt fabric) and for decorating the little crochet flower...for the inside i used pillow stuffing which is hypo allergic and safe for kids although the snake is for decorating the room and not for the baby to play with.

sewing a bag

ikea fabric hand sewed bag

All this time i was looking at sewing projects, especially bags and i wanted to make my own although i don't have a sewing machine. I still had the fabric from IKEA (and lots of spare time) so i decided to give it a try.

Once again without a pattern i folded the fabric in the middle and started sewing the two sides together. I had it turned inside out of course, and when i finished i just sewed the two bottom corners in a triangle shape to make the bag look better. I just looked at it and sewed wherever i thought i should. I made the two handles and attached them to the body, sewed two cute yellow buttons on the front of it and ta dah!!!! My first ever bag is ready!!!! The fabric was very thick and it made the whole thing very difficult and tiring for my poor fingers but i like the final result so much that i no longer care about it ! I also made a little heart and a puff stitch flower to decorate it :)

As you see i didn't make a lining, i just didn't have the courage for more hand sewing...plus i was way to bored to go out and look for fabric (38C is too hot for me to run around...although i did go for jogging in the afternoon :p). I don't think it really matters...i will use it to put in groceries, mainly vegetables from the market...or should i carry it all the time??
