making XMAS ornaments !!!

Xmas is my favorite time of the year and i just love to decorate the house and the xmas tree. And now that i know how to crochet im also making my own ornaments!!!! Im so excited that im making as many as i can at the same time....cant wait to finish one and im already starting the next one. Here are some pics to give you an idea of  what im doing right now...

hooks !!!

I like knitting....but crocheting is my big big love...so as i get more and more into it i collect more and more hooks....im getting addicted to buying all different kinds....so far i have these!
they're all different....made of plastic, metal, bamboo and a combination of plastic and metal....of course im going to buy more of them...with decorations on them this time!!
One more thing i also love is this vintage "pic.nic" plastic bag....its a small Japanese lunch bag back from the 80s that my brother gave to me and i fell in love with it the moment i saw it!!! its perfect for my hooks and i can also carry 2-3 different yarns in it. The perfect crochet kit for my outings and especially for my 5-hour-train trips to Athens!!!
...so where do you keep your hooks ??? I'd love to hear your ideas....

living room ready!!!!

we finally finished painting the living room and yes YES YES!! we really love it!!!! we still have to to some changes with the curtains (you can see them falling off) and wall decorating but most of it is ready. Next week i'll be playing with the Christmas tree and some new ornaments im making so many many changes are coming!!!

a 10-minute-painting

I made this painting while watching a movie...it only took 10 minutes and i think it looks pretty good for my living room (still cant decide which way i like it better though)....i used some old acrylics i found while cleaning the house and a small painting brush...just that...not even a drop of water!
I'm gonna buy some more canvas and make a few bright coloured paintings like this one to decorate the house...

painting the house

Yeap! We started painting the house yesterday...first stop the living room which turned from a pale white to a bright mustard yellow (or green if we trust the name of the paint).... it looked weird at first but the more we look at it the more we like it!! Its not finished yet...we still have one wall left and then we will put the furniture back into place plus new stuff like paintings, new curtains and other wall decorations....
If everything goes as planned by the end of the week we will have the bedroom ready as well... :))
and then.....cleaning and cleaning and cleaning and.....I'm off to bed cause just the thought of it made me too tired!!

expecting...

Well i think the drawing says it all.... we're expecting our first baby and cant even tell how happy we are!!!
This is what i meant when i talked about health issues...we didn't want to talk about it too soon.
The first 3 months were a disaster....i couldn't do anything....i felt exhausted all of the time and just wanted to sleep...that's the reason i didn't post anything and didn't read any of my favorite blogs...
But now i feel a lot better and im gonna make up for it....at least i will try to cause i have so many things to do .... starting tomorrow we decided to redecorate the house and change the colours of the walls...its so boring and old as it is...and after that we have to buy the baby stuff and all....i just cant wait !!!!
I also have to travel a lot cause my doctor is in Athens - 4,5 hours from were we live. In 10 days i have my "big" ultrasound and we're gonna check that everything is ok with the baby and im really nervous about that one...till then i try and just be happy and possitive about the whole thing.
So now you know.... :)
do have a lovely rest of the weekend and if you have any advice to give us about the whole baby thing please do...we'd really appreciate it.. xxx
